Yet another awesome Flipturn show, this time at the Whale Jam on Nantucket at Cisco Brewers! It was great to see Dillon, Tristan and Mitch, shoulder to shoulder at the front of the stage, belting out one tremendous hit after another. (Devon and Madeline did not appear at the gig).
Dillon was in a very good mood and was very conversational with the audience. They treated the crowd to August, Playground, Glistening, Sad Disco, and even dug deep with such classics as Hippies and Chicago. I even got to hear Window, one of my absolute favorites off the new album, and In Consideration, which I consider to be nothing short of a masterpiece.
More than worth making the trek out to Nantucket for the day on the fast ferry. Love to watch them continue to grow in songwriting and performing. Look forward to seeing them at TD Garden and MSG in the not too distant future.

flipturn Biography
For flipturn, success didn't arrive overnight. The band, comprised of Dillon Basse (lead vocal
guitar), Tristan Duncan (lead guitar), Mitch Fountain (synth, guitar), Madeline Jarman (bass), and
Devon VonBalson (drums), grew steadily with every gig, from college house shows to festival
appearances at Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, and Austin City Limits, to a late night TV performance
on Jimmy Kimmel Live - earning the Jacksonville, Florida-based band an international
reputation as an indie rock powerhouse. By the time flipturn released their debut album,
Shadowglow, they'd become genuine road warriors while still in their mid-20s, supporting the
record with a nonstop string of tour dates. That dizzying experience inspired the band’s second
release, Burnout Days. Caught halfway between 21st century indie rock, New Wave-inspired
nostalgia, and rhythmic alt-pop, Burnout Days finds the beauty that exists between five friends,
even in times of burnout.
