Kristen Englenz Biography
From the award-winning gospel ballad “Pray For Rain” to the infectious alt-pop single “Silly Silly Silly,” Kristen Englenz is an artist whose sound transcends genre.
Kristen’s musical journey began as a young kid in Georgia. If she wasn't at the local stables riding horses, playing softball, or exploring the pine forest behind her house, she was learning classical piano and french horn. In college she picked up the acoustic guitar and started writing original songs inspired by everything from the birds outside her dorm room to the legends of American roots music. Speaking of birds... In 2009 she was crowned the 2009 International Bird Call Imitation Champion!
Eventually, her voice brought her to Nashville, where she quickly became a fixture of the songwriting community. Her debut album, ingénue, produced by Wilco’s Ken Coomer, expanded her sound to include heartland folk-pop and americana anthems like “Got Me With Goodbye.”
The standout track from ingénue, “Pray For Rain,” featuring the Grammy-winning Blind Boys of Alabama, earned Kristen international recognition, and was named a finalist in the International Songwriting Competition. This collaboration positioned her as an Americana force capable of holding her own with music legends.
Kristen’s latest release, “Silly Silly Silly,” marks a bold new chapter in her career. An indie pop anthem with sparking synthesizers and a percussive pulse, the song fuses quirky sounds and influences into something entirely fresh.
With her unique voice and fearless approach to songwriting, Kristen Englenz is an artist who defies categorization, offering a captivating live experience that keeps audiences coming back for more. Whether performing stripped-down folk ballads or high-energy pop/rock, Kristen’s infectious stage presence, unique voice, and emotional depth make her a must-book act.
