Fiend Biography

Fiend, born Richard Anthony Jones, is a pioneering rapper, producer, and Southern hip-hop icon from New Orleans, Louisiana. Known for his deep, resonant voice and commanding presence, Fiend first made his mark in the mid-1990s as a standout figure in Master P’s No Limit Records movement. His breakout album *There's One in Every Family* (1998) cemented his place in Southern hip-hop, and his unmistakable vocal style earned him the nickname "Mr. Whomp Whomp." On Feb 8, 2025, Fiend partners with Full Court New Orleans for a full Big Game celebration that includes exclusive memorabilia, pop outs from No Limit Tank Dawgs, and the once in a lifetime opportunity to actually win a No Limit Soldier Jersey worn in a performance by Fiend himself! February 8, 2025 - 509 Dumaine Street - New Orleans Louisiana.

After playing a pivotal role in No Limit's success, Fiend launched Fiend Entertainment, where he continued to evolve as both an artist and producer. He is also a member of Jet Life Recordings, founded by fellow New Orleans artist Curren$y, where he continues to release music as both Fiend and his alter ego, "International Jones." His latest project, *Cool is in Session 3* (2023), exemplifies his ability to blend Southern rap’s traditional sound with contemporary production, further proving his relevance in today's hip-hop scene.

In 2024, Fiend has teamed up with No Limit alum Mac for the *Tank Doggs* tour, celebrating the 25th anniversaries of their timeless classics *Street Life* and *World War III*. The tour, still accepting bookings for select dates, is a global celebration of their enduring influence on hip-hop, reconnecting them with fans worldwide. Fiend's legacy as "Mr. Whomp Whomp" remains ever-present, ensuring his continued presence in the music world.

Fiend’s career reflects his adaptability and dedication to the art form, bridging generations while honoring the rich musical heritage of New Orleans. His contributions to Southern hip-hop remain vital, as he continues to push the genre forward without losing sight of its roots.
