Carles Gutierrez Biography
Carles Gutiérrez Reguant 1980,
Guitarist from Barcelona, he started as a self-taught musician until he decided to make music his way of life. With a degree in jazz guitar from the Conservatori del Liceu, he has been mentored by Jordi Bonell, Dani Pérez and David mengual, among others.
His musical path is always linked to Jazz -ranging from its purest tradition to the most contemporary approaches- but without forgetting the infinity of styles that have accompanied him throughout his life such as flamenco, Brazilian music, Cuban, rock or punk.
Muyayo Rif, The Summer Lovers, Estación del Este, Transit trio, Judit Neddermman, 5 de swing, Hypnotick Orchestra and Dani Txarnego are some of the groups that have led him to perform in the city's most emblematic venues and in countless statewide festivals, as well as Womad London, Womad Russia, Concert At Sea (NL), Ariano Folk Fest (IT), Maré de Agosto (PT), Festival Bout du Monde (FR) and Klezzmore Fest (Vienna).
As a composer, he has been part of the writing process for all the projects he has gone through and he has also created music for theatrical shows and various advertising projects as well. He has also been part of the musical direction and production of several albums.
Currently, with an average of more than 100 concerts a year with his different projects and constant recordings, he is in his most active and creative moment of his musical career.
He teaches guitar at the EMMCA (Escola municipal de música centre de les arts d'Hospitalet) and at the Sant Gregori School of Music.
