I dont go to many gigs. This seems a great little venue. Much better than going to a big concert venue in Melbourne Park.Dean and the Sinners were very good. Preferred the stuff from their newest album. Will probably try to see them up in Brunswick too, whilst they are here. For $40 great entertainment.

Dean Owens Biography
UK Artist Of The Year 2021, 2022, 2023 (and UK Album Of The Year 2022) – Americana UK Readers’ Poll
Award-winning celtic troubadour (and former frontman of Scotland's original cowpunk band The Felsons) Dean Owens is an inveterate wanderer and collaborator, most recently recording 2 albums in Tucson USA with musicians from Latin rock icons Calexico . Fans include BBC's Whispering Bob Harris, and authors Irvine Welsh and Ian Rankin (whose fictional detective Rebus has Dean's music on playlist). Dean's music is a unique blend of Scottish roots and Americana, with added desert noir.
His band The Sinners make a glorious, brass soaked, driving sound with Craig Ross (electric guitar), Philip Cardwell (trumpet) and Adam McMillan (bass), with Dean’s searingly soulful voice upfront. They conjure the magical panoramic sweep of the US desert states, infused with grit and dust from Scotland’s post industrial heartland. Songs of love and lust, sinners and saints, the displaced, the wanderers and the border ghosts.
A joyous mix of songs, banter and stories from Dean’s 10 album career and a life on the road.
Earworm inducing melodies and great songs; the heart of a rock n roller combined with the spellbinding delivery of folk’s best storytellers, with fun and melancholy intertwined.
• “Owens sings with a dark majesty that matches the gigantic emotional pull of his songs… dirt caked desert noir” **** Mojo
• “more intoxicating than the most treacherous of mezcals…” **** Rolling Stone
• a wild and swampy romp... Had the audience transfixed... Americana UK
• Edinburgh’s finest… Edinburgh Evening News
