Omer Gonen-Haela Biography
Omer Gonen-Haela is an Israeli multi instrumentalist, singer-songwriter and ceremony leader.
His music is influenced by the diverse backgrounds of his musical studies and world travels. His songs are songs of prayer and depth, of love and connection, holding the vision of a human world based on respect, trust and connection to all that is alive. Omer's concerts are held as ceremonies, bringing forth the communal aspect, the mutual intention and the power of prayer when held together as a creative force.
"The best title describing me and the essence of my work today is ‘A Man of Prayer’. Prayer fills my world as a source of creativity, as an ever changing and developing language between myself and life, and as a way of bringing people together to feel, sing, share, dream and manifest”
Omer was born in 1977 and started his musical journey at an early age singing and studying the flute. at his 20's he travelled the world exploring the music of India, the Middle-East and Brazil. He played and recorded together with many artists such as Nagwa, Carioca Trio, Rainer Scheurenbrand, Danit Traubig, Nessi Gomes, Laor Oman-Naharin and more.
Omer is currently working on an album composing ancient jewish prayer texts and a book called ‘Prayer - Reclaiming the language of the soul’
