Ahmed Soultan Biography
Ahmed Soultan knows who he is and where he comes from. His music doesn't lie.
Since his very first album "Tolerance " , in 2005 , he has been redefining it , far from clichés and trends , faithful to all the human and artistic values he has inherited from his childhood in a village in Morocco .
A music moving with the times , but still authentic , proud to give these hip-hop, soul or funky vibes a rejuvenating dose of tradition with the darbuka, ribab or guembri soothing sounds.
Album after album, Ahmed Soultan's style finds his own soul and, very soon, a whole continent identifies to this music that mixes Arabic and Amazigh so well ... Poetical and yet accessible; ancestral and yet contemporary; open and yet personal. The whole of Africa recognize themselves in Ahmed Soultan's style, and there he is, awarded Best Artist then, Best Album of the Year by the All African Music Awards, in 2016.
Throughout Africa, Europe and America, he collaborates with many artists such as : Ne-Yo, RZA, Femi Kuti, Fred Wesley, Pee Wee Ellis or even George Clinton... Everybody wants a taste of that Afrobian he holds in his heart and is eager to share across boundaries, across language, across culture and across generations.
In his project to come, involving artists like Nana Mendoza (Mexico) or Di 'Ja (Nigeria, Sierra Leone), Ahmed Soultan continues to explore his origins, with the duality of a rooted and universal man as his compass all over the world.
