Blues Old Stand Biography
BLUES OLD STAND – THE SOUTH’S BEST-KEPT SECRET
A BAND BORN IN THE BARS, RAISED ON THE ROAD, AND BUILT TO LAST
Blues Old Stand isn’t just a band—it’s a brotherhood. Since the late ‘80s, we’ve been carrying the torch for raw, unfiltered Southern music, blending blues, rock, and swampy soul into something all our own. From sweaty barroom gigs to festival stages, we’ve shared the bill with legends like Widespread Panic, Dickey Betts, and Hubert Sumlin, leaving a trail of blistering guitar licks, wailing harmonica, and damn good times in our wake.
After years of tearing up the Southeast, life took us down different roads, but the music never let go. Now, Blues Old Stand is back—sometimes as a full band, sometimes as a duo, always bringing the same fire. Led by Dave P. Moore (harmonica, vocals) and John Mark Turner (guitar, vocals) , we’re keeping the sound alive with a mix of old favorites, deep cuts, and fresh tunes from our solo catalogs.
We’re still here. Still playing. Still proving that the blues ain’t just history—it’s happening right now.
