Shlomi Goldenberg Biography
Dr. Shlomi Goldenberg is an accomplished composer, saxophonist, and lecturer based in Or-Yehuda, Israel. He is also the musical producer and manager of the Jazz Alley Club in Old Jaffa, Tel Aviv. Goldenberg holds a PhD in Music Composition from Bar-Ilan University and has studied at prestigious institutions like New England Conservatory, Berklee College of Music, and Cornish Institute. His teachers included renowned artists such as Dave Holland, Gary Peacock, and Joe Viola.
Goldenberg’s latest project, *SpirituaLight*, is his 13th album, featuring compositions he crafted over the past two years. His diverse body of work includes jazz, blues, and fusion, blending classical music with jazz. He is also known for producing multimedia shows, such as *The Soul of Jazz* and *Israeli Jazz*, aimed at educating young audiences about jazz.
His discography includes albums like *Flower* (1988), *Cool as Ice* (1990), *Blues Straight Ahead* (2008), and *Don’t Call Me Back* (2017). Goldenberg has earned awards, including the American Israel Foundation Prize for Composition, and performed at numerous jazz festivals worldwide, including the Red Sea Jazz Festival, Prague Artforum Festival, and Roma Tel Aviv Jazz Festival.
In addition to his performance and composition career, he has been an educator, lecturing on the history of jazz at Ben-Gurion University. Goldenberg has toured internationally, performing in places like Italy, Russia, and Belarus, and managing projects that promote global jazz collaborations.
