Varietopia with Paul F. Tompkins

VARIETOPIA is a modern variety show, showcasing the best in contemporary comedy, music, and other forms of live entertainment, hosted by acclaimed comedian Paul F. Tompkins. Debuting at the Largo nightclub in Los Angeles in 2002 under the name The Paul F. Tompkins Show, the program ended its initial run in 2014, and returned to a new location, the spectacular Lodge Room in Highland Park, in 2021. Guests are always a surprise and surprises are guaranteed. 

Celebrated comedian, actor, improviser, podcaster, and writer Paul F. Tompkins, has been delighting audiences with his unique brand of entertainment since he began his standup career in Philadelphia at age 17. Tompkins has since made immutable and inimitable contributions to modern comedy with credits including HBO's revered sketch show Mr. Show with Bob & David, and the animated dramedy BoJack Horseman.

Mr. Tompkins and his secret roster of special guests will be backed by the superstar talents of the legendary Varietorchestra, led by Los Angeles-based bandleader, musician, composer and arranger Mr. Jordan Katz, who delivers a diverse mix of musical genres and soundscapes for the evening. Known for his work with They Might Be Giants, Father John Misty, Natalie Merchant and De La Soul, Mr. Jordan Katz leads the band with his trumpet and banjo.
