Rue, the talented English songwriter, vocalist, and guitarist, showcases her signature blend of soulful vocals and rhythmic guitar, infused with a captivating jazz essence. Praised by Dart Music Festival as “a future star,” she continues to make waves in the music scene.
In 2024, Rue released two new singles, each accompanied by striking cinematic music videos—her debut on screen. Both tracks garnered exceptional support from BBC Introducing and were featured on Official Spotify Playlists, including ‘Jazz UK’ and ‘Fresh Finds.’ Her latest release ‘On The Fence’ was featured on the Round Midnight BBC 3 show with Soweto Kinch.
Drawing inspiration from both classic and contemporary artists such as Hiatus Kaiyote, Maddison Cunningham, Kimbra, and Jamiroquai, Rue has made a name for herself through her headline shows at esteemed venues like the Cheltenham Festival Jazz Arena, Pizza Express Jazz Club in London, and Patchwork Studios. She has also graced the stages of major festivals including Boardmasters, Leopallooza, and The Great Escape, establishing herself as one of the must-see live acts in the south-west, whether performing solo or with her band.
In 2022, Rue opened for the afro-jazz ensemble Nubiyan Twist and has supported a variety of prominent artists, including Yakul, Martha Reeves & the Vandellas, Keane, Newton Faulkner, and James Arthur. A seasoned performer with experience in both BBC Radio and Television, she has collaborated with Sennheiser and received support from the renowned radio station Jazz FM.
