About this concert
Caper Clowns, known from Danish and international radio with songs like Pockets and The Way I Dream, are releasing their 4th album on June 6th, 2025, and are consequently going on tour in Denmark and beyond. "Can I briefly describe Caper Clowns music? Sure - it's damn good music! On a more serious note, it's kind of an up to date take on 60's and 90's pop rock, with a twist of whatever else we may feel like doing". Rick Kingo – Caper Clowns

Caper Clowns Biography

Caper Clowns, known from Danish and international radio with songs like Pockets and The Way I Dream, are releasing their 4th album on June 6th, 2025, and are consequently going on tour in Denmark and beyond.
"Can I briefly describe Caper Clowns music?
Sure - it's damn good music!
On a more serious note, it's kind of an up to date take on 60's and 90's pop rock, with a twist of whatever else we may feel like doing". Rick Kingo – Caper Clowns
Caper Clowns are a great live band because all five guys give it their all on stage. That, and the fact that the songs are great, are some of the reasons why the band was awarded Live Band of the Year at Odense Live Prisen.

Caper Clowns are fairly unpredictable, both musically and in their live performance. Musically because they are five songwriters, who all contribute something different, that they still seem to somehow fit together, and live probably because they have played a lot of shows together by now, leading them to always try out new fun things to keep both the audience as well as themselves entertained.
Caper Clowns have played more than 400 gigs, both big and small. To name a few they have supported Level 42 (UK), The Crookes (UK), Lise Westzynthius (DK), The Broken Beats (DK), and The Eclectic Moniker (DK). Caper Clowns played the main stage at Midtfyns Festivalen and have been part of the International Pop Overthrow Music Festival line-up in Liverpool every year since 2017, and will be going again in 2025. The festival is held at The Cavern Club and features more than 100 bands from all around the world.
” I've said it several times before, and I'll say it again:
Caper Clowns, from Odense, is one of the best bands Denmark has ever produced. Perfect, polished power pop with amazing lead vocals, tight harmonies, and hooks galore. Honestly, one can't ask for much more, and we're very grateful for the many years they've played IPO Liverpool.” David Bash, founder of the IPO-Festival
Excerpt from gig review by Morten Gottschalck GAFFA:
“... Caper Clowns... ... Outstanding performance... ... It is likely that these musicians will become an international succes, without us Danes even realising it... ...The quintet peaks with the song Sleeping On The Edge Of The Rainbow, where we dream our way into their musical universe. They rotate the lead vocal, and you get the clear impression, that this is a band with many years of live concerts. It is in the very centre of bullseye, with lots of cheering.”
"What do the audience get to take home from a Caper Clowns concert?
A really good music experience, often spiced with some fun and giggles, while still managing to fit in songs with more gravitas". Christian Højgaard – Caper Clowns
Caper Clowns is somewhat of a family reunion – there is father and son, two brothers, and an adoptee.
Rick is the son of Henrik, who has been the musical teacher of the school that Peter, Christian and Rick all attended.
Henrik joined as a temporary replacement and was kept out of the formal spotlight as he, per own statement, was a tad old for such an endeavour. After a year or so, the entire band was convinced that it was impossible to replace the replacement, being an outstanding musician, who also owned a sound studio with a complementary car big enough to fit their 88 keys Roland stage piano!
Rasmus, the adoptee, joined as the drummer of Caper Clowns in 2018, after spending several years at Nordfyns Percussion, with whom he toured in Japan, as well as playing a concert for The Royal House of Denmark – with high expectations from Caper Clowns to utilize Rasmus’ royal connections in the near future!
There are a lot of creative forces in Caper Clowns – despite only being a five piece act, there are four lead singers, three guitarists, two drummers, a bass player, two keyboard players, five backing vocals, three percussion players, a banjo player, one on lap steel guitar and five songwriter, all on one stage! Not to mention the extended list when recording in the studio!
