David Mitchell is delighted to be performing at the festival, which is back for its second year and set in the picturesque garden, both solo and in the ceilidh line-up of Monkey See Monkey Do (who will also be doing their trio set).
As well as David Mitchell, the line-up includes: Monkey See Monkey Do, Lewis Wood & Helen Gentile, Fly Yeti Fly, Sean Rice- Nada Folk, Ukulele Vagabond, Dipper Malkin, Ribble Music and Sian & Rob Bluegrass.

David Mitchell describes his guitar playing as “Folk-Classical fingerstyle”, combining these genres to create a beautiful and unique take on some well known pieces and traditional folk tunes as well as performing his own original compositions.
In addition to being a talented musician, David trained as a luthier at Newark and Sherwood College and uses a Classical Guitar that he crafted himself. He also plays other stringed instruments as well as whistles and recorders.
David has enjoyed performing solo guitar at a range of lovely venues including Downend Folk & Roots, Banbury Folk Club, The Amadeus, Wessex Acoustic Folk Club, Fivehead Folk & Acoustic Music Night, VegFest Bristol as well as many other public and private events.
David’s debut solo album, Contours, released on the 18th of October 2024 has been described as “tremendous” by Alan Ritson of Fine Folk (LCR FM) and “excellent” by Robert Ford of The Folk & Roots Show (Abbey FM). “Played to perfection” - Jelli Records (Brian Inglis).

David Mitchell describes his guitar playing as “Folk-Classical fingerstyle”, combining these genres to create a beautiful and unique take on some well known pieces and traditional folk tunes as well as performing his own original compositions.

Alongside solo gigs, David enjoys performing with other musicians including collaborations and depping in with bands and musicians near and far - particularly for ceilidhs. These include a duo with fiddle player Rupert Kirby as well as in the “Monkey See Monkey Do Ceilidh Band”.
