Freedom of Fear Biography
Since launching their debut album , Freedom of Fear have earned their reputation as one of Australia’s tightest and most engaging live metal acts. Honing their musicianship through touring with Fleshgod Apocalypse and supporting heavyweights such as Thy Art Is Murder, Jinjer, Soilwork, Obituary, Obscura, The Black Dahlia Murder and playing many festivals around the country, the Adelaide band have steadily risen to prominence in the Australian metal scene.
In 2022 Freedom of Fear released their critically acclaimed second album , which debuted at #3 on the AIR Independent charts and garnered significant attention from the global metal community. Not limited by the borders of down under, ‘Carpathia’ features legendary drummer (ex-Necrophagist, Obscura), in addition to mixing by V. Santura (Triptykon, Dark Fortress), both hailing from faraway Germany.
More recently, Freedom of Fear were the first ever metal band to perform at the prestigious Adelaide Guitar Festival. Directed by renowned classical guitarist , the festival allowed the band to showcase their virtuosity in front of a new audience.
‘Freedom of Fear is an insanely gifted bunch, and their musical abilities are on full display throughout an album that revels in synth-drenched drama, blackened aggression, bruising heft, and dazzling technicality. The young outfit ooze confidence and astonishing musical skill’ - Angry Metal Guy on ‘Carpathia.’
