Midsouth Biography

MidSouth Band is one of the touring groups who helped define the musical genre now known as Christian Country music during the 90’s. The band is made up of Robby McGee, vocals/keys/songwriting, Bobby Bowen, lead vocals/bass, Tony Turner, vocals/acoustic guitar and Kent Humphrey, lead vocals/acoustic guitar/songwriting. The band has recorded music with Word Records & Warner Alliance, and has seen their music not only do well in the Christian market, but in the country market as well. Many of their songs, such as “Without You (I Haven’t Got a Prayer),” “City Lights,” “Down by the Tabernacle,” “You Were at the End of Every Road,” “Resting Place,” “Sin Met Grace,” and “That’s my Child,” helped them to become fan favorites and win numerous awards in the music industry. They were awarded a Dove Award for Country Recorded Song of the Year for “Without You, I Haven’t Got A Prayer," a Grammy nomination for Best Southern, Country or Bluegrass Gospel album for their “Shoulder to Shoulder” project and, most recently, “The Living Legend Award” from The Inspirational Country Music Association.

As far as their goal, it’s pretty simple; to bring glory to God in all they do! Whether it’s through performing their music on a stage, through a song they’ve written, or through their everyday lives during the week, they want the goodness of God to be so evident, that others are drawn to hear more about it….as to what to expect at a concert? Expect to laugh, dance, smile and clap along with a stage full of talented musicians, singers and writers, who’s music will leave you feeling encouraged, inspired and ready to pass it on to others!

The band is slated to release their new project “Things I’d Tell a Younger Me” in the fall of 2024.
