Tungsten (SE) Biography
Tungsten came to life in 2016 when drummer Anders Johansson had listened to a few songs that his sons (Karl Johansson & Nick Johansson) had written. That gave him the idea of starting up a band together with his sons. Shortly thereafter they recruited longtime friend Mike Andersson to be the bands lead singer.
Tungsten released their debut album entitled “We Will Rise” on September 20, 2019 which includes the modern day classic metal anthem “The Fairies Dance” that have passed 6 millions of streams on Spotify alone. One year later Tungsten released their second album entitled “Tundra”. Because of the ongoing pandemic that prevented bands to tour and play live in 2020 and 2021 Tungsten had the time to start writing music for their 3rd album instead so, their 3rd album entitled “Bliss” was released in June 2022 which received rave reviews and put Tungsten on the metal map as a band to count on. The word about Tungsten was going around and the feedback from fans all over the world have been nothing but fantastic. During spring 2023 Tungsten did their first tour supporting fellow natives in Bloodbound which turned out to be a fantastic tour for Tungsten and rumours about Tungsten being a stellar live band started to spread. During summer of 2023 Tungsten performed live at Sweden Rock Festival in for thousands and thousands of metal fans and the feedback for the show turned out fantastic!
In late 2023 Tungsten signed a new licensing deal with new German metal record label Reigning Phoenix Music (RPM). During 2023 between gigs and touring Tungsten worked on their 4:th album and during fall 2023 Tungsten entered the Der Bunker Studio and Harm Studios to start the recordings of their 4:th album. The 4:th album was entitled “The Grand Inferno” and was released via Reigning Phoenix Music on November 8, 2024. “The Grand Inferno” was recorded at Harm Studios in Trelleborg, Sweden produced by guitarplayer Nick Johansson. A Scandinavian tour supporting SONATA ARCTICA was completed in September 2024 and the last show for 2024 was at SABATON CRUISE (Tallink Silja between Stockholm (SE) and Tallinn (EST).
