About this concert
Hold onto your hats Shindiggers! 2025 is bringing a seismic shift to the fields of Charlton Park Estate, and we're not just talking about a change of scenery. We're talking a full-blown evolution of the Shindig experience, a musical explosion that'll leave your ears delighted and your feet aching for more. Think bolder, and more brilliant it’s Shindig in a whole new light!
Forget what you thought you knew about Shindig. This year, we're cranking up the volume with a dizzying array of live acts and DJ sets that span the globe and defy definition over 3 live stages and 4 DJ venues. Prepare for a sonic adventure that'll have you dancing from dusk till dawn (and probably a bit beyond).
Dancefloor Devotees, Assemble!
Calling all movers and shakers! This year's lineup reads like a who's who of dance music royalty. We're talking genre-bending maestros like Gilles Peterson, the legendary Mr Scruff, the electrifying Dan Shake, and the ever-innovative Artwork. These sonic architects will be weaving tapestries of sound that'll keep you locked to the rhythm.
A Global Groove-a-Thon:
But that's just the tip of the iceberg, folks. We're diving deep into the world of global sounds, bringing you a kaleidoscope of rhythms from every corner of the planet. Get ready for industrial hip-hop straight from Chicago with the explosive Angry Blackmen, the brass-fueled frenzy of Toulouse's Fülü, and the future ghetto funk queen herself, South Africa's Moonchild Sanelly.
Afrobeat and afrofunk are taking center stage this year, with the iconic Seun Kuti & Egypt 80 leading the charge, alongside UK powerhouses Agbeko and Matuki. Prepare for jubilant highlife gospel from Ghana's Alogte Oho & His Sounds of Joy, and the electrifying return of Ibibio Sound Machine with their mind-bending fusion of electronic and West African grooves.
From Rave Caves to Disco Dreams in the woods:
Our brand new rave haven, Halcyon, is where the bass will be booming. We're welcoming back legends like Altern8 and Swankout, alongside dancefloor destroyers Jinx in Dub, A-Skillz, and Freestylers. Legends like Leeroy Thornhill, Krafty Kuts, Soul of Man, Jessica Joy, and Shed of Dread will be joining the party, while over the field at the good ship Nautylicious high-energy bass driven performances from Toya Delazy and Grove.
Drum and bass heads, prepare for a full-scale assault on your senses as Born On Road takes over with an all-star lineup including Gray, Kelvin 373, Aries, OKO, Selector J-Man and more. And of course, no Shindig would be complete without a healthy dose of dub and reggae. Dub FX, Gentleman’s Dub Club, and Channel One will be bringing the good vibes, alongside local heroes The Golden Guild and Future Dub Orchestra.
For those who prefer their beats a little more soulful, the Shimmy Discotheque, nestled amongst the trees, is your disco and house paradise. Luke Una, DJ Paulette, and Danny Howells will be spinning pure fire, The Reflex & Black Hawks of Panama bringing a disco vibe while Bacana Funk curates a tropical fiesta with CoCo María, Poly-Ritmo, and John Stapleton.
