In the mid 1960's the Byrds burst into the rock music world with two singles, "Mr. Tambourine Man" and "Turn! Turn! Turn!" Both became #1 hits and altered the direction of American popular music. Blending American folk harmonies with the rock and roll sound of the Beatles, the Byrds created a folk-rock niche that changed continues to evolve to this day. At the heart of the Byrds sound was the distinctine sound of a soaring 12-string Rickenbacker guitar, played by Roger Mcguinn. We are indeed fortunate that all these decades later, Roger McGuinn continues to tour and recreate all those classic sounds. In his autobiography, written decades ago, fellow Byrd David Crosby refererred to Roger as a genius. Time has borne that out.
