2022 Telly Award winner for social issues for the video Black Lives Matter (https://youtu.be/60nShEge2S8) Two-time Emmy Award Winner Bassist Tony Saunders has released his 7th CD THE ROMANCE CONTINUES on Baja/TSR Records. Tony has played with smooth jazz greats Gail Jhonson, Paul Jackson Jr., Paul Brown, Jessie J, Sinbad, Randy Crawford, NIls, Joe Sample and Harvey Mason. Tony has also played with jazz greats Dave Liebman, Les McCann, Joe Sample, and Esther Phillips along with Rock legends Eric Clapton, Ringo, Crosby, Stills & Nash. With his world-famous dad Keyboardist Merl Saunders, he played with Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir, Buffy St Marie and Dr. John.
Tony is a graduate of the Conservatory of Music In San Francisco. His first piano lessons were from Herbie Hancock, and Sly Stone gave him an organ at 10 years old.
