The enigmatic producer Sound On Tape has been creating electronic music since 2011. His work under his early moniker Freeze-Tag has been featured by XLR8R, Do Androids Dance, Pitchfork, BBC Radio 1, and more.
Born in Cleveland, OH, the American producer draws influence from legends El-B, Burial, Larry Heard, and Todd Edwards as well as deep seated gospel icons CL Franklin, TL Barret, and Mahalia Jackson.
His first release of 2023 is a reimagining of the 1996 Garage classic “Gabriel” (Roy Davis Jr.) released by 904L World Class Sound.
