Celebrate Bob Dylan’s legacy this Autumn on Saturday May 17th, with ‘I Shall Be Released’, a heartfelt tribute to one of the most influential songwriters of our time. This special evening at Murwillumbah's, The Citadel will feature an exceptional lineup of NSW and QLD’s finest singer-songwriters, each offering their unique take on Dylan's iconic songs, spanning over six decades of music.
After a string of sold-out shows across South East Queensland and NSW over the past 10 years, Sunshine Coast troubadour Pat Tierney will bring the event down South once again to share the magic with NSW audiences. The night promises an eclectic mix of performances, each paying homage to Dylan’s genius, with songs that have resonated through generations.
“The events have been a huge success, and we wanted to bring the tradition down south and introduce it to new fans in NSW. It’s always been amazing to see how wide-ranging the crowd is, from die-hard fans to younger listeners discovering more of Dylan’s deep catalogue. It just shows how universal his songs are,” says Pat Tierney, who has been a lifelong admirer of Dylan.
First launched in 2012, ‘I Shall Be Released’ has grown into a celebration of both Dylan’s incredible catalog and the vibrant local music scene, with Australian independent artists coming together to honor the man who helped shape modern music.

Pat Tierney Music Biography
Lap slide guitarist and roots troubadour Pat Tierney brings an eclectic and captivating musical experience to everything he touches. Taking influence from the likes of Bob Dylan, Ben Harper and JJ Cale, Pat's music dances between folk, blues, roots, and soul. A true songwriter and poet, Pat brings an old-school approach with modern tales of love, loss, hope, and social justice.
After releasing his debut album in 2015, Pat has toured relentlessly across the country and abroad with the likes of The Beautiful Girls, Ash Grunwald and good friends Bobby Alu, as well as recently supporting Canadian blues and folk maestro, Harry Manx. Garnering songwriting accolades along the way with a Queensland Music Award finalist nod in 2015 and more recently in 2023, as well as the 'Folk Award' in the 2017 NCIEA Dolphin Awards. Pat has also performed at iconic festivals across the country such as Queenscliff Music Festival, Caloundra Music Festival, Nannup and Blues on Broadbeach as well as his debut album 'Wild World Blues' featuring on the QANTAS in-flight music catalogue.
Pat's sophomore 2019 album 'Red Moon', also received rave reviews with features on ABC radio, Double J and community radio across the country, as well as ticking over 1.5 million streams across the digital streaming platforms since its release. The album also featured songs in QLD Road & Safety advertisements, and the track 'Angels' featured in the recent motorbike and surf documentary, 'Death Rides A Horse.'

Pat is currently working on album number three with renowned roots maestro and ARIA award-winning Pauli B (George, The Beautiful Girls Bobby Alu) due for release in early 2024. Brand new single 'Love & Hope' is OUT NOW.
