BINI Biography

Nothing inspires quite like friendship does. The eight members of Filipino girl group BINI share a connection that’s as close as possible to sisterhood. As such, a spirit of close collaboration drives their creativity and allows them to connect to audiences worldwide by way of their boundary-breaking blend of pop, dance, hip-hop, and Filipino stylings. The members—Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna and Sheena—encourage one another to constantly excel, elevating the collective in the process.

After amassing over 1 billion streams and selling out venues, they continue to progress at lightspeed with much more to come in 2025.

“Our bond is really strong,” Gwen states. “We get along so well with each other that we really are like sisters. It’s a big part of everything we do.”

This bond was forged during 2018. After the girls individually auditioned for Filipino reality series Pinoy Big Brothers, they received callbacks for a “secret project” from ABS-CBN Entertainment. They underwent months of intense music “boot camp” and training, unassumingly cementing their chemistry. They also shared music with one another, listening to everyone from Sarah Geronimo, Gary Valenciano, ENHYPEN, and BLACKPINK to Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Adele, SZA, and Journey. These experiences and influences underscored every aspect of their development and evolution.

During 2020, despite the pandemic, BINI arrived on the global scene with “Da Coconut Nut.” On its heels, 2021’s Born To Win spawned “Na Na Na,” amassing over 55 million Spotify streams. They maintained this hot streak with Feel Good [2022] and the Talaarawan EP [2024]. Off the latter, “Pantropiko” generated a staggering 170 million Spotify streams followed by “Salamin, Salamin” with 168 million Spotify streams and “Karera” with 101 million Spotify streams. Meanwhile, they capped off 2024 with “Cherry On Top,” reeling in 54 million-plus Spotify streams. Shining as a force of nature on stage, they also impressively sold out the three-day “Grand BINIverse” concert series at the Araneta Coliseum in Manila. By 2025, BINI and ABS-CBN Music had gained a foothold at the forefront of a Filipino pop music revolution.

All of these milestones prepared them to carry their music and culture worldwide.
“Our heritage is very important to us,” Aiah says. “We try our best to incorporate it into our craft. Even if we aren’t in the Philippines, we bring our culture with us and introduce it to other people who might not know as much about it.”

You can definitely hear it in the music. The girls locked into a creative groove in the studio, stretching the scope of their sound. “We’re definitely in the pop lane, but we aren’t limited to that,” Aiah goes on. “We like to explore and discover. You never know what might work best. We’re always open to having songs in different genres too.”

“Ever since we found our sound, we have really learned to hone our skills and connect with fans," Mikha elaborates.

They amplify this connection in 2025. The next era of BINI begins with the electrifying and engaging high-energy single “Blink Twice.” Bubbly synths and a head-nodding beat power up the track, uplifting soaring harmonies. Sassy rhymes slide into a chantable and cheeky chorus, “If you like me, blink twice, are you naughty or nice?" It’s focused, flirty, and fun.

“It’s very straight-to-the-point,” Mikha explains. “It’s about a girl expressing these emotions to her crush. She’s like, ‘Give me a sign, so I don’t have to go through all of these obstacles to figure out if you like me or not’.”

“When people hear ‘Blink Twice,’ I hope they get the sensation of butterflies in their stomach,” Aiah grins. “That will hopefully allow them to experience good vibes and positivity then they can share it with other people and spread that feeling.”

“‘Blink Twice’ is the exact genre that BINI is right now,” Jhoanna exclaims.

Fittingly, it also sets the stage for their debut English-language project. Ultimately, BINI’s own bond allows them to welcome listeners even closer.

“We take so much pride in who we are and where we come from,” Mikha leaves off. “We want to capture not only Filipino hearts, but everyone’s hearts. We want our music to be a bridge to our culture".
