About this concert
Kentmorr’s been here longer than most of us. Before the tiki bar, before the beach chairs, before the boat slips. It started as a sandwich shop for pilots back in ’54. Now it’s a place where the watermen stop for a drink, the sun burns out over the bay, and the sound of a guitar still carries on the wind. This summer, I’m bringing my songs back home—solo, unplugged, raw. No big stage, no production, just music and the stories that live in the bones of this island. Some of you know them already. Some of you have lived them. So come down, grab a drink, and listen close. The bay’s got its own rhythm. I’ll be playing along. 🎟️ No cover – just show up. See you at the water’s edge.

J. Coursey Willis Biography

Described as “The imagined child of Jim Morrison and Alanis Morissette,” J. Coursey Willis is a haunting alternative rock figure, known for his poignant lyrics, brooding sound, and galvanizing performances. His music delves into addiction, despair, heartbreak, and tragedy, yet there is beauty amidst the darkness. With a voice reminiscent of Eddie Vedder and Layne Staley, audiences appreciate his nostalgia, raw honesty, and introspective songs. Willis formed a permanent production team and touring band with members of Candlebox and Jimmie’s Chicken Shack, having previously worked with other prominent musicians. His devoted following praises his evocative voice and poetic lyrics, comparing his recent single “Niles” to a modern-day “Ballad of Curtis Loew.”
