Review of the Morgan concert – Segovia, March 15, 2025 I start by saying that I am deeply in love with these guys: their music, their way of being and playing together, their ability to convey passion and emotions. I know every one of their videos by heart, I listen to and watch them very often, and I’ve also devoured their new album with enthusiasm! I’m 54 years old and I’ve been breathing music since I was a child. I’ve seen so many concerts live, in stadiums, arenas, and theaters, and this Morgan concert will always remain in my very close, personal circle of the most beautiful, most heartfelt, most desired, and most satisfying I’ve ever seen. This concert was the best birthday gift I’ve received, by chance coming from my better half: we flew from Sicily to Madrid, arriving late due to bad weather, just in time to rent a car and go to sleep. The next day we went to Segovia, a truly charming little town. The Juan Bravo Theater is small, cozy, wonderful, and has amazing acoustics: a gem. My partner and I were right near the theater entrance when, three hours before the concert, Ekain, David, Paco, and Nina arrived, and my heart swelled so much that I didn’t even manage to ask them for a photo or even say a word of love towards them: like a little kid, surprising myself, I just froze, following Nina with my eyes as she entered the theater, smiling, and standing there like an idiot. If I hadn’t been able to greet them later, I would never have forgiven myself! At 8:30 p.m., the theater doors opened, and we were the first to enter: first floor, second balcony on the left, right above Nina’s keyboard position. I confess that I had spent the whole day looking for and finally found a pink neon heart, with an arrow and the words "Love U," the size of a water bottle, which I intended to keep on and wave toward the guys on stage, but my idea was stopped after barely 30 seconds by a theater staff member who told me to turn it off and not use it anymore. I was very disappointed, not so much for myself, but for the Morgans, because they could have felt even more love from their audience, a public that was truly generous with the musicians, and I am proud to have been part of it: fabulous, warm, passionate, enthusiastic about every song, every virtuosity, every word spoken from the heart by Nina. The Morgans enchanted us with their quality, simplicity, honesty, and gratitude from the very first second, from entering the theater—not on stage, but in the midst of the people—singing "Arena" without microphones or amplification, with Paco accompanying Nina’s unforgettable voice on an acoustic guitar, finishing this unplugged phase with the amazing multi-voice chorus of all the artists, really breathtaking, sublime. Thunderous applause. Tears barely held back. Or maybe not. Then, the darkness on stage. Silence. And then BANG, the real concert begins, and the loving connection between the Morgans and their audience becomes true ecstasy, with applause and shouts of admiration that surpassed the volume of the amplifiers, with Ekain joyfully beating the rhythm and leading all the friends, with David captivating us with a kind of "calm omnipotence" and always laughing with Paco, the master of monstrous technical and interpretative skills on the guitar, but also excellent with his voice. And then there was Nina. Well... I don’t know how many celestial beings walk this earth, but I know for sure that they exist because Nina exists: her ability to reach straight to the heart (mine, for sure, but also that of the countless Morgan admirers, no doubt) is unique. She could make me cheer or cry even if she were singing the repair bill text for the washing machine technician, let alone singing and playing the beautiful music of Morgan! Nina is a poem that becomes life, her voice and expressive power are a dream taking on the ethereal, seductive, and fleeting forms of the northern lights. Her humility, gratitude, and shyness would be so powerful that they could win all the wars in the world. How can you not love Nina? How can you not love all these talented guys, so immersed in a virtuous, joyful, and explosive mood, who play without tricks and without deceit, the old-fashioned way, making us dance and cheer, move and embrace, making us feel grateful to exist and to be able to witness such high and unforgettable moments? A special mention goes to the bassist and especially to the two backing vocalists and the multi-instrumentalist who joined the Morgans for this concert, really, really amazing, they elevated the show to an even higher level. Only two or three brass instruments were missing to complete the musical scene, but there wouldn’t have been enough space in this small gem of Segovia anyway. The concert passes quickly in a timeless bubble, as I lose all sense of time, place, and dimension. I fly along with all the other spectators in this theater, which has turned into a three-tiered magic carpet, launched by a thousand hands clapping to the rhythm of the Morgans' magical notes, in an inseparable emotional fusion between musicians and audience. The songs from the new album are already classics, beautiful, inspired, among which I particularly prefer the power of "Altar" and "Pyra." The new tracks alternate, as they should, with the older repertoire, and it was like meeting old friends in great shape: it’s now time for the Morgans to release a "Greatest Hits" because they’ve already created quite a few masterpieces. I want to highlight "Praying" among them all, which always breaks my heart, just like "Sargiento de hierro," but I wouldn’t want to do injustice to the rest of their repertoire. I am completely lost in my "Morgan" world when I suddenly realize, when Paco starts a solo (as usual, one that will make your hands bleed from clapping, for his incredible skill, hands already as hot as those of a healer) that it takes me two seconds to recognize the opening of "Home," my favorite song, even though I have several favorites by Morgan. But, wait, is it already time for "Home"? So soon? Well, it wasn’t really early; it was just that I hadn’t realized the time was passing. I didn’t have the setlist and didn’t want to know it, I preferred the surprise! Nina introduced and greeted her bandmates, and the concert was coming to an end, and the Morgans tried to leave for a few minutes, triggering a storm of applause and shouts like from Dante’s inferno, until they came back on stage for one last, endless, and incredibly intense final embrace that united the group with its audience. I have to highlight the obvious: with "Another Road," the ceiling of the Juan Bravo theater came down, a nuclear explosion, a starry celebration, an absolute apotheosis. Wow!! I was expecting the concert to close with "Marry You," my favorite song (I told you I have more than one favorite, right in the heart, didn’t I?!!), especially because in September, I’m marrying the love of my life, and this incredibly beautiful song was the one I dedicated to her when I asked for her hand. But evidently, the guys decided to keep it as a weapon to make us return and see them and hear them again in the future, and I can’t agree more with them: we will definitely return, and it will be unforgettable again, clapping our hands off and losing our voices while our hearts fill with love, on their next tour! I was so taken by the concert that I didn’t take a single photo or video, and this is undoubtedly a record (at least personally)! I hope a Live album comes out from this tour, to watch and listen to over and over in the future, but I didn’t waste a single second distracted from the enchantment and emotional drive of this sublime event. Immediately after the very generous concert, which lasted over two hours, an emotional and enthusiastic audience flocked toward the merchandise stand, where all of us fans were able to meet Ekain, David, Paco, and Nina! Finally!! There they were, right in front of me, without fences or bodyguards or anything… Here is their honesty as musicians and amazing people: they are exactly the same on stage as they are off stage: simple, smiling, approachable, grateful, down-to-earth! Here is the Truth of their music, consistent with their Truth as human beings and as a group, and that’s why they reach people’s hearts so intensely, because we feel so much Love for them! A true joy and an extra gift to exchange a few words with them, get autographs on the album (and even a personalized dedication from Ninaaaaaaaa=)), take a photo all together! I had no voice left, and my already shaky English was gone in the excitement of the moment, but what a show, what a wonder! How much I love these guys and how happy I am to love and listen to them! Thank you, Morgan, truly from the bottom of my heart! I leave, but know that all my emotion and gratitude stay with you. PS: In the midst of the goodbyes, I gave the luminous heart I had brought to the concert to Nina. I think it’s in the best possible hands. Keep going like this, fantastic 4, fantastic Morgans! "Marry you (at all)." PS2: Nina, sorry: in the rush, I forgot to give you the charger too=))
