Garretson & Gorodetsky Biography
Fronted by vocalist Weba Garretson and guitarist Ralph Gorodetsky, this band features 3 part vocal harmony, hard swinging grooves, funky beats and gorgeous orchestral moments all woven into your standard three chord song. The five piece is enhanced by woodwind player and harp maestro Vince Meghrouni, and propelled by the grooving rhythm section of bassist Laura Grissom and drummer Brian Christopherson. Both Meghrouni and Gorodetsky play in the Meccolodiacs, a punk jazz outfit lead by guitarist Joe Baiza who was in SST band Saccharine Trust with Christopherson on drums. Garretson played with both Baiza and Gorodetsky in Puttanesca and continued performing with Ralph in the Eastside Sinfonietta. Since 2014, Garretson & Gorodetsky have put out three CDs “My Skin Craves Soil” “In the Year of the Fire Monkey” and “Tunnel of Time.” Their newest single with be released in February of 2024.
