About this concert
KRSIX is an instrumental sextet led by London-based saxophonist Kasper Rietkerk. Their music blends jazz with rock and folk influences, brought to life by a powerful six-piece band. Their debut album, The Island, recorded with a string quartet and featuring guests Anatole Muster, Emma Rawicz, and Immy Churchill, launched at a sold-out Pizza Express Soho in London on June 24th, 2024, on Zennez Records. The band has performed at major London jazz venues including Jazz Cafe and Pizza Express, and toured through the UK. ★★★★ ‘While debut albums may be daunting, this sounds as if they have been performing together for decades.’ – All About Jazz (2024) All the music is written and arranged by Kasper, who draws inspiration from his observations and experiences after moving to London in 2021. Kasper performs alongside Max McLeish (trombone), Alex Lockheart (guitar), Benji Bown (piano), Jonah Evans (drums), and Toby Yapp (double bass). ‘These guys sound great.‘ – Aaron Parks This event is hosted by Batavier Jens Meijer
