Sorry Darlin Biography
Sorry Darlin' is a band.
It's also a love story, a family soundtrack, and a testament to the deep roots of home and community. Married for 15 years, Matt & Kaylea Vaughan have been making music together for as long as they’ve been together, first in churches and around their home, then slowly transitioning to writing songs behind closed doors. In 2023, after more than a decade away from the stage, they returned to performing and haven’t looked back, bringing their heartfelt harmonies and raw storytelling to venues all across Oklahoma.
As parents to three incredible kids they've learned to embrace the beauty and chaos of balancing family life with their music. Their songs carry the weight of lived experience—love, loss, late nights, and early mornings. Rooted in the sounds of Americana, folk, and country, their influences range from Zach Bryan and Tyler Childers to The Civil Wars and Wild Rivers, blending vintage tones with a modern heart.
But at the core of Sorry Darlin’ is a deep love for Oklahoma and the community they’ve worked to cultivate along the way. Whether it’s singing on a stage, around a backyard fire, or at the kitchen table with their kids, music is woven into the fabric of their lives. Their debut release, The Perle Sessions EP, was released across all streaming platforms February 14, 2025—a collection of songs that reflect their journey and the people along the way who make it all worth singing about.
