Gulf Coast Outlaw Reggae act dem - birthed in Galveston, now beaming out of Houston, has been performing original music in the Texas southeast region since 2016 as an acoustic project by Louis Morales. Trodding through the city jungles and global lockdown, dem's music began to take life form evolving into the music ensemble that it is today which include Patrick Kelly (formally or The Stingers ATX, The Bandulus, The Suffers, The Skarnales), Kevin Benier (formally of The Suffers, The Skarnales), Liam Haney (formally of Th3rd Coast Roots), Allyson Lopez, and Selphilips Taveraz.
dem, better known as dem roots music, released their debut album, Forward Ever, on Dec. 3rd 2021 via Splice Records.
Pa Que Esperar Al Tiempo was their second album released on Feb. 25th 2024 via Splice Records.
Through their journey, dem has had the opportunity to share stages with Stephen Marley, Lee Scratch Perry, Cocoa Tea, Yellowman, Sister Nancy, Dread Mar I, Gondwana, Kabaka Pyramid, Clinton Fearon, Los Pericos, 311, and has backed Yellowman(Houston Reggae Fest 2024) and Sister Nancy (Houston Reggae fest 2024)
