“In an era where pop music can often feel disposable, The Heroic Enthusiasts remind us of the power of musicianship, songwriting, and collaboration. ‘Clear’ [from the upcoming album ‘Illuminate,’] is not just a song; it is a statement of intent, a beacon of what Synth Pop and Alternative Pop can achieve when approached with care and vision.” —Parkett

The Heroic Enthusiasts Biography
“Inspired. Glistening synth arpeggios, mathematically precise, propulsive four-on-the-floor and bursts of angular guitar paired with Tabbi’s expressive crooning and razor-sharp hooks.” —The Joy of Violent Movement
With feet firmly planted in the ethos of ‘80s post-punk, and an eye and sound focused toward the future, The Heroic Enthusiasts deliver powerful, intoxicating hooks spiked with touches of sophistication and danger.
The band was formed by James Tabbi and Thomas Ferrara in 2014, but the duo's symbiotic relationship dates back to the early ‘90s. Tabbi, the former lead singer of darkwave stalwarts and critical darlings Eleven Pond, and later, The Artillerymen; and Ferrara, a founding member of New York City-based rock group Bullseye (Columbia Records) and new wave bands The Puppets and 2 Boy Cure, were kindred spirits.
“Challenging yet innovative… a sound that feels equally nostalgic yet future-facing.” —Clash Magazine
“Alluringly refreshing and passionate.” —Fame Magazine
“Striking. Cinematic. [The Heroic Enthusiasts’] creative collaborations deftly merge the intellectual and emotional.” —Post Punk
“Lovely shimmering synth tones and backed up with guitars to give you a slap of the 1980s.” —It’s All Indie
“Dynamic . . . a breath of fresh air. Urgent and propulsive.” —This Is Pop
