Due West Biography
**DUE WEST: The UNBROKEN Journey**
In 2004, serendipity brought together three distinct voices from small towns in Western corners of the United States—Tim Gates from Utah, Matt Lopez from Wyoming, and Brad Hull from Arizona. It was at a house party in Nashville where their harmonies first intertwined, creating a unique and special vocal blend that would become the foundation of a remarkable musical journey.
United not only by their shared love for music but also by similar upbringings and influences, Tim, Matt, and Brad quickly formed a friendship and the trio, now known as Due West, embarked on a musical odyssey that has spanned nearly two decades.
Since that fateful night in 2004, Due West has been prolifically writing, recording, and performing music together. Their collaborative spirit has led them to work with numerous talented musicians, producers, and industry professionals. Some of these collaborators were once idols and sources of inspiration before becoming lifelong friends in Nashville.
In 2012, the narrative of Due West took an exciting turn when their paths intersected with one of their biggest musical heroes, Dean Dillon. A luminary in the music industry, Dean's immediate kindness and generosity opened the door to a unique collaboration. Inviting the trio into his creative sanctuaries in Nashville, Key West, and Colorado, Dean and Due West began crafting songs that would leave an indelible mark on their musical journey. The first fruit of this collaboration, "I Just Wanna Go There," found its place on Due West's "Move Like That" EP - released in 2013.
After navigating seasons of hiatus, personal trials, and divergent paths, Due West reunited with Dean Dillon with a shared vision—to record and release an album that would encapsulate the essence of their journeys and enduring friendship. The result is UNBROKEN, a full-length album featuring a collection of songs written early in their friendship as well as newer compositions.
