Mathias Lattin Biography
While being one of the older genres in existence, blues and roots music is getting a fresh breath of life with Mathias Lattin. At just nineteen-years-old, the Houston native moves effortlessly from jazz, to soul, blues, R&B and funk. He is a student of the music and the musicians that came before him.
The grandson of basketball Hall of Fame inductee David Lattin, Mathias found himself drawn to the blues at the age of ten, soon embarking on lessons in jazz and classical music. Noting the legends of the time period such as B.B. King, George Benson, and Wes Montgomery, Mathias found great inspiration from their work and began crafting his own music.
He is a 2020 graduate of Houston's acclaimed Kinder High School for Performing and Visual Arts. He officially debuted his own music to the world that
same year with two stellar singles ('Notice Me" and "A Whole Mood") and an accompanying EP in 2021 entitled "Let’s Start Here." He is a guitarist with Keeshea Pratt Band, the 2018 International Blues Challenge Winner, and has shared the stage with Annika Chambers, Christone "Kingfish" Ingram, Mr. Sipp "The Mississippi Blues Child", The Peterson Brothers, and many, many others. Mathias Lattin is ready to give a new generation of listeners a fresh take on the music he loves.
