Hayden Woollen & The Hoodbilly Chronicle Biography
Hayden Woollen & The Hoodbilly Chronicle won the CMA of Texas award for "Band of the Year" . Hayden Woollen is a talented, young artist born and raised in a music-filled home in Houston, TX. His father was a touring drummer who played for many notable artists including Kevin Black, Clint Black’s brother. This exposure inevitably drew Hayden to songwriting and the stage.
No surprise, Hayden’s first instrument was the drums. He also learned guitar and began singing publicly when he was 19. Hayden started writing songs during a five-year stint in Florida and began developing his own vocal style: a unique blend of Country, Soul and R&B. His songwriting has been inspired by Charley Crockett, Tyler Childers, Dean Dillon, and Gary Stewart. He credits Mark Chesnutt, Ronnie Dunn, Lauryn Hill and Otis Redding as profound vocal influences. Hayden says, “I love writing songs that can connect in many different ways to many different people.”
Hayden’s debut album Pine Hills, released in 2019, is a collection of original material that tells compelling stories of characters, real and imagined, as well as songs that reflect the artist’s own, personal, life experiences. Says Hayden, “My only goal in life is to make timeless music… music that will never die.“
When Hayden’s not busy with writing or recording his music you’ll likely find him on stage performing. He’s currently touring across Texas and the surrounding states, delivering full-band and acoustic shows to a wide variety of enthusiastic audiences.
