Lady Lyon is returning to their favourite local community-owned Sydney venue, Petersham Bowling Club, for one hot night to launch their brand new single, 'Cut Back' out on March 19th, with special guests The Bancrofts in support.
'Cut Back' is the first offering from their long-anticipated debut album, due June 25th, 2025.
"Cut Back has been with me for many years, like a rock smoothing over time at the bottom of the ocean. It was a slow burn to craft and is now a personal favourite of mine from the album," says Hayley Lyon, the frontwoman of Lady Lyon.
Lady Lyon is one of those rare artists where you never really know what kind of song you’ll get next. Bridging genres between alt-country, rock, psych, and indie shoe-gaze, the Sydney five-piece has never failed to leave an audience wanting more—often leaving them wondering, "What the f*ck just happened?"

Lady Lyon is a Sydney-based artist known for her unique mix of alt-country, rock, and blues, which blends relatable lyrics with unconventional melodies. Drawing on a rich blend of Australiana and American honky-tonk, Lady Lyon's distinct twang and finger-picking style have quickly earned her recognition within the Australian music scene and a reputation for one hell of a live show with line dancing encouraged.
Her music, which ranges from introspective narratives to captivating, darker themes, has garnered extensive airplay on stations like Triple J, FBI, 4ZZZ, and 3RRR. Singles like All Night Temple and Friends In Hell have helped solidify her rising profile.
Lady Lyon's career highlights include her 2017 debut EP Champion Blues, her 2020 signing with Evening Records, and the release of her Friends In Hell EP in 2022. She has toured nationally, sharing stages with artists like Hiss Golden Messenger, C.W. Stoneking, and Jen Cloher, and performed at major festivals such as the Tamworth Country Music Festival and Dashville. She was also invited to perform at SXSW in Austin in 2024.

Produced by Wade Keighran and recorded at Golden Retriever Studios, the album blends country-tinged indie rock with introspective, relatable themes of love and self-discovery. Reminiscent of trailblazing artists like Angel Olsen, Julia Jacklin, and Neko Case, Lady Lyon’s evolving sound and sharp songwriting are distinctly all her own.
