Joual Biography
We're Joual! [Ju-al], an... indie rock* band from Atlanta Georgia!
We formed in 2021 as a side project, and creating our first song "Dans". Over the winter, spring, and summer 2022 we finished and self released our debut EP - Wubwubwubwub, which consisted of Dans, and 3 new songs: Quelque Ne Va Pas, wubwubWUb, and Dear Friend,. We also played our first 2 shows, at a local battle of the bands, and lemonade days, a festival in Dunwoody. After this we started writing new material, but none of it really felt right as a new release, so in 2024 we released a deluxe edition of the wubwubwubwub ep, with 4 new tracks and the removal on Dear Friend,. These would be the demo tracks of "What le wub???", "Wubbington Station (KEA)", "Big manly dolphins in 3d pt 5" and "no more." This brought more jazz and new wave inspirations to our material.
In the summer 2024 we started writing new material, exploring new genres. We started playing more shows, including our first 2 headline shows, "Joualloween" and "Joualsgiving". In december we announced we had started working on our debut album -- the "Joualbum". With this we have brought more original material to the live stage, and started getting booked much more often. The joualbum has a 2026 planned release date. We cannot wait to share more!!
