Joanna Duda Trio

Whether touching a broken keyboard, using the sound of a rewinding tape machine, or mixing in field recordings, Duda's innate playfulness allows any instrument to blossom - you get a sense that one of her greatest strengths is to listen attentively to whatever she uses. Joanna Duda founded the Trio in 2017, with the idea that the sound would become the ensemble’s hallmark and its defining quality. She treats the jazz trio format as one of many conventions she explores alongside Maksymilian Mucha (double bass) and Michał Bryndal (drums). All the band members also incorporate electronic elements – effects, samplers, and sequencers. Joanna Duda Trio has, in recent years, firmly established itself on the European music scene, regularly performing at major jazz festivals that champion innovative approaches to jazz and improvisational music.
