About this concert
Rich Brotherton grew up playing music in Augusta, Georgia. After college in Colorado, he spent summers in Doolin, County Clare, soaking up the traditional music of Ireland. He later moved to Austin and wound up touring for years with the Robert Earl Keen band. Now off the road, Rich is once again immersing himself in the vibrant Austin music scene, and running Ace Recording, a cosy, well-appointed recording studio.
Rich has produced, played and sung with too many musicians to number, including producing and recording Barbara Nesbitt’s album Someday, Maybe Sooner. In addition to his studio, Rich is currently a member of both Ulla, a gathering of Irish and Irish-American singers and players who share great affection for music of Ireland and the British isles, and the Purgatory Players, a conglomeration of Austin music veterans who gather every Sunday to raise money to fight food insecurity.
Rich’s website says he plays “guitars, mandolins (all sizes), basses, banjos, most anything with strings and frets (or slides). Here’s a link where you can see & hear Rich (just to whet your appetite):

Barbara Nesbitt, Austin based Americana Singer-Songwriter, is currently recording her 6th solo album, Lucky Street. Her voice, guitar work and songwriting have placed her in the top 5 Best Female Singer, the top 3 Best Songwriter, top 3 guitar players, and top 8 Best Country categories in the Austin Music Awards and her album, Right As Rain, is in rotation on SiriusXM Radio. She co-founded the breakout band, The Whiskey Sisters (winner of Austin Music Awards Best New Band), to much buzz and acclaim, has sung background vocals for Willie Nelson and Bob Weir and is gearing up for a late 2025 Europe tour. She is co-host of Austin’s weekly songwriter showcase, Monday Night Supper Club at El Mercado. With a voice that is at once plaintive and strong, warm and clear, her songs take you on a journey reflective of her life which will make you laugh, cry, think and feel.
