Beatroot Biography
A nine-piece bucket of funk with a side of rock: Beatroot serve up a smörgåsbord of original grooves & horn blasting tunes!
Hailing from the UK's sunny south coast, Beatroot have been captivating audiences across the UK with their high-energy performances and original instrumental arrangements. If you like brass in your face and dirty full-bodied funk, this is the band for you.
Formed after meeting at university in the early 2010s, the band has spent the last decade gigging in various incarnations, writing prodigious amounts of music and gradually perfecting their unique blend of joyful, somewhat filthy, noise. Instrumental acts can often be a hard sell, but Beatroot pride themselves on their easily accessible sound and an ability to get the party started: think more dancehall sound system than Jazz Club (Nice). After releasing the debut single ‘Falafel Funk’ at the tail end of 2022, they’ve been back in the studio over the last few months and are getting ready to put out a slew of new music towards the end of 2024 and beyond into 2025.
