Born in Jamaica in 1957, Winston McAnuff learned to sing from his pastor father who played the accordion at the church in Christiana, his native village in Jamaica. Nicknamed Electric Dread for his extravagant energy on stage, he participated in the glorious hours of the history of Jamaican roots reggae…
To this day, Winston McAnuff remains the one and only Jamaican artist nominated for the French Victoires de la Musique Awards.
Winston is also the father of Matthew McAnuff, one of the young stars of the new generation of the 2000s, who tragically disappeared after having scored the international hit “Be Careful”.
