Kissing The Flint

Leah Chynoweth-Tidy is a multi-award nominated Australian-Scottish singer-songwriter based in Dumfries & Galloway, SW Scotland. This shape-shifting, genre fluid artist created musical project Kissing The Flint (translation: creating a spark) to cut through the fakery of the modern world. Authenticity and emotion run through her songwriting, storytelling and live performance, leaving each listener feeling connected and empowered. Leah’s songs reflect an adventurous spirit. crystal clarity of message and vivid imagery from experience, empathy and imagination; shape-shifting easily from roots beauty in solo format to sultry rock raunch with her full band in explorations of the human condition, a genuine desire to empower others and lifelong affinity with the natural world. In 2024 she launched her second album ‘Standing On The Fringe of Rooms’, completed a successful Australian tour and performed at numerous Festivals and events across the UK including Music at the Multiverse alongside Toploader, Tide Lines and The Hoosiers. Her third album, recorded at Unit 7 Studio in Bladnoch, SW Scotland, is waiting in the wings for release in 2025.
