No terror in the bang Biography
No Terror in The Bang is a progressive and cinematic metal band from France, crafting a chiaroscuro world that balances fragility and fury. The band’s name is inspired by Alfred Hitchcock’s quote, “There is no terror in the bang, only in the anticipation of it,” encapsulating their music’s balance of tension and release, reminiscent of the calm before the storm.
Their debut album ´Eclosion’ surprised metal enthusiasts with its blend of primal energy and sophisticated cinematic orchestration. The new album ´Heal’ pushes this dynamic further with tracks that are by turns turbulent, touching, and powerful, embracing diverse influences that amplify the album’s intensity.
Sofia Bortoluzzi’s mezzo-soprano voice stands out, seamlessly shifting between characters, and alternating between clear and saturated vocals.
Each track by the band offers a unique narrative atmosphere, blending modern metal with the dark ambiance inspired by film soundtracks, creating a unique sense of suspense and climax.
The artistic direction is led by drummer and composer Alexis Damien (Pin-up Went Down, Void Paradigm, ex-live drummer of Carnival in Coal), supported by Etienne Cochin and Clement Bernard (guitars), Brice Bouchard (bass), and Romain Greffe (keyboards). The visual aspect of their work, crafted by photographer Louise Dumont, adds a hauntingly beautiful dimension to their music.
