Esprit D'Air Biography
Esprit D'Air is an award-winning synth metal band led by The Sisters of Mercy's guitarist, Kai. The band released their debut album, Constellations, in 2017, earning the 'Best Metal Album' accolade at the Independent Music Awards, judged by legends from Slayer, Sepultura, and Amy Lee of Evanescence.
In 2022, Esprit D'Air unveiled their second album, Oceans, which entered the Official Charts, peaking at #8 in the Top 40 Rock and Metal Albums and #5 in Album Downloads for several weeks. Oceans (Special Edition) features fan favorites "Leviathan" and "津波 - 'Tsunami'" with guest appearances by Ben Christo of The Sisters of Mercy and Ryo Kinoshita of Crystal Lake.
Late 2023 saw the release of their cover of Iron Maiden's "The Trooper," featuring ex-Judas Priest vocalist Tim "Ripper" Owens and Ben Christo. In late 2023 and early 2024, Esprit D'Air embarked on a sold-out 22-date European tour, performing in the UK, Ireland, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, and Hungary.
New dark future metal album Aeons is planned to be released in 2025.
“Catchy and atmospheric, with incredible vocals and an otherworldly guitar solo. What a song!”
– Richard Shaw, Cradle Of Filth
"Amazing music!"
– Matthew K. Heafy, Trivium
"Leviathan is a wonderful song, feels like a modern day opera with heavy guitars set on fire! Melancholic and haunting, the vocals cut deep. A truly inspired song."
– Michael Falcore, The Birthday Massacre
