About this concert
It’s been a while since I’ve played in the August courtyard series at my local library (though I grace the place on a weekly basis to feed my lifelong reading addiction). It’s a lovely outdoor space, small enough to feel intimate, but large enough to hold several dozen music fans. This will be an acoustic, small combo show featuring a French song or two, some new songs from my upcoming release The Road Ahead, the Road Behind, and a sprinkling of songs from my other eight albums. Free admission!

CHRISTOPHER MARK JONES Biography
Singer-songwriter-guitarist from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.Christopher Mark Jones sings soulful country and blues-inflected Americana narratives in “a rich voice that’s slightly rough around the edges” (Scott Mervis, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette), but still grabs the listener along with his “fascinating lyrics” (Melody Maker, UK) and the “intricate guitar-playing” and “wide-ranging textures and exquisite instrumentation” (Larry Berger, Saturday Light Brigade) of his recordings. Listeners hear echoes of “Greg Brown's pacing and a Lyle Lovett attitude” (Ben Shannon), as well as of John Prine, Bruce Coburn and Darrell Scott.
