Die Allen-Forrester Band ist ein gemeinsames Projekt der beiden New Yorker Gitarristen Ben Forrester und Josh Allen. Geprägt von den Pionieren des Southern Rock wie der Allman Brothers Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Black Crowes, und Blackberry Smoke, verpassen die beiden dem klassischen Twin-Guitar-Sound einen neuen Anstrich und verbinden ihre Einflüsse zu einem mitreißenden Mix aus knackigem Bluesrock und melodischem Southern Rock. Die Live-Shows der Allen-Forrester Band leben nicht nur vom klassischen amerikanischen Retro-Sound der Band und Josh Allens rauer Blues-Stimme, sondern auch von der Spielfreude und Improvisationskunst der Band, zu der neben den beiden amerikanischen Gitarristen auch die deutsche Rhythm Section (Hendrik Herder am Bass und Matthias Böhm an den Drums) ihren Beitrag leistet. Allen-Forrester Band Biography
The Allen-Forrester Band is a Blues and Rock band founded by New York guitarists Josh Allen and Ben Forrester. Inspired by the pioneers of the genre like The Allman Brothers Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Black Crowes and Blackberry Smoke, they put a new spin on the classic twin guitar sound and have combined their influences into a stirring mix of straight forward Blues Rock and melodic, song-oriented Southern Rock.
Their live shows are not only a showcase of sophisticated guitar riffs and Josh’s weathered, bluesy voice, but also of the entire band’s joy of playing and improvising. The rhythm section consisting of Hendrik Herder on bass and Matthias Böhm on drums complete the modern, yet timeless retro sound of the band. RockTimes simply calls it “a true firework of Blues and Rock”.
