This show at Mrs Sippy was much smaller than we expected but totally bloody brilliant! We flew from Perth to see Safia after a medical emergency prevented us from seeing them last December when they played in Perth at the Icecream Factory. So initially, we were a bit surprised. However, once the crowd got going, it turned out to be a balmy, bouncing beach party vibe. The drinks flowed, the weather was perfect, with people still sporting their bikinis and boardies until the end of the show at 9pm. The music was superb as the guys took advantage of the intimate pool side setting to bust out heaps of tunes I hadn't heard while we all jumped around in glee! It was a memorable night for me, and Safia are a fun crew! Thanks so much!

SAFIA Biography
SAFIA - which consists of Ben Woolner (Vocals/Keys), Michael Bell (Drums) and Harry Sayers (Guitar/Keys) - first began transporting listeners to new worlds in 2013 with their breakout single, “Listen to Soul, Listen to Blues.” The track racked up 15 million streams on Spotify, cracked the Top 10 on the Australian Independent Singles chart, and helped garner invitations to support superstars like Lorde and Disclosure on the road. The band followed it up with a series of similarly successful singles including "Counting Sheep" (which has now amassed over 700M streams in China) before releasing their 2016 debut album, ‘Internal,’ to rave reviews. The record landed at #2 on the ARIA chart, earned the trio sold out international headline tours as well as arena dates with Twenty One Pilots, and grew the band into a live, radio and streaming juggernaut (to date, the band has amassed over 200 million audio streams).
Their sophomore album 'Story's Start or End' was released in 2019, followed by a sold out AUS theatre tour and blistering festival appearances at Splendour, Wildlands & Concrete & Grass (China) to name a few. Euphoric single 'Starlight' achieved Gold certification in AUS and #15 most added at US Radio (NACC).
2022 saw the release of single 'Falling Down', which quickly become triple j's #1 Most Played and was warmly embraced by fans - as seen at their sold out intimate shows in Dec 2022.
