sunkissed Biography
Born from the creative fusion of Toronto roots and San Francisco dreams, "sunkissed" crafts a sonic landscape where indie surf rock meets vintage psychedelia. The four-piece band blends synthesizers with lush, reverb-soaked guitars, creating a distinctive soundscape that feels both nostalgic and fresh.
On their debut single "On the Sun Kissed Hills of San Francisco", vocalists Wenson Gan (keys, vocals) and Calder Lund (guitar, vocals) deliver a raw, honest reflection about leaving Toronto for San Francisco. The song emerged from a simple guitar riff during a moment of inspiration while watching sunlight pour onto hills of San Franciscan houses. Living minutes from Haight & Ashbury, the birthplace of 60s counter-culture, the piece naturally evolved to capture both the neighborhood's rich musical heritage and our newly found connection to the city.
Following the writing of "On the Sun Kissed Hills of San Francisco", they converted their home into a DIY recording studio, transforming their closet into a vocal booth and their living room into a full-blown jam space. Alongside their band members and friends, Lloyd Maza (drums) and Henry Gish (bass), they recorded and mixed in-house before entrusting the final mastering to the renowned Greg Calbi and Steve Fallone at Sterling Studios in New York.
