Join Rosi Amador, award-winning Puerto Rican/Argentine Latin vocalist and percussionist from the Latin band Sol y Canto for an afternoon of improvisational singing. ** Pre-Registation is required About this event: Join award winning vocalist Rosi Amador, for a dynamic 2-hour workshop designed for those interested in deepening their practice with improvisational singing and circle songs. In this session, you’ll immerse yourself in the vibrant world of Latin and Caribbean polyrhythms, exploring the joy of vocal improvisation in a group setting. Rosi will guide you through select techniques for Latin and Brazilian body percussion, along with vocal percussion that mimics the energetic sounds of a salsa band. You’ll learn how to recreate some of the following: the beats of claves, congas, bongos, maracas, and more, alongside vocalizations of trumpet, bass, maracas and other instruments. Get ready to unleash your creativity, deepen your rhythmic skills, and connect with others through the power of shared musical expression! Please note: This workshop is limited to 30 participant - please RSVP in advance. All voices are not only welcome but celebrated in this inclusive space, but also, you must possess a willingness to step into the middle of the circle and be heard and seen in the spirit of collective song.
