About this concert
I’ll be at the New Hudson Inn the 1st week of October at 7:00PM. For the occasion, I’ll be mixing in some Classic Rock (Floyd, Skynyrd, Seger) and some 90’s Rock (Incubus, Sound Garden) in with your Yacht Rock favorites. Great Food, great Staff and Professional Sound System setup. See ya there!

Kerry - Short Music Bio
Beginnings
I played electric guitar in a 5 piece Rock band in my early twenties. But my heart grew to love artists like James Taylor and Cat Stevens. By my late twenties I was in an Acoustic Duo with my older brother, so I gave up Rock music for smooth vocal harmonies. For 8 years we played all over Michigan, from Mackinac Island to Ann Arbor, Lansing and Detroit. In 2000 my brother stepped out and my little sister stepped in. Another 8 years of Michigan performances followed.
Solo
Since then, I play local solo acoustic shows with no desire to stop, ever. Two of my musical strengths are remembering song lyrics and playing unique cover song renditions. For some reason, even with a mediocre overall memory, I can remember guitar chords and song lyrics, no notes, no sheet music. As far as song renditions, come hear me perform live and you'll say, "I didn't expect HIM to play THAT. He kind of pulled it off". Most of all I love performing live and I can be very entertaining when I put my mind to it.

In 2022 I read an article “Top 20 Yacht Rock Songs”. On the list were songs like Summer Breeze by Seals and Croft, Brandy by Looking Glass, Ride Like the Wind by Christopher Cross, Drift Away, Tin Man, Sara Smile and many others. I thought “hey, I play those songs”. So I checked other Yacht Rock lists and streaming music stations. Sure enough, I’ve been playing many of those songs and artists for years. So, if you like Yacht Rock (or you own a Yacht and are looking for entertainment) I just might be the musician for your next event.
