Darwin's Rejects Biography
Darwin's Rejects are a six-member folk-punk powerhouse known for their high-energy, foot-stomping performances that fuse rousing beats with intricate mandolin work and high-octane guitar and bass. Their music brings together the raw energy of punk and the rich traditions of folk, creating a fulsome sound that gets audiences dancing and singing along.
Formed in 2016 they initially focused on putting their own spin on cover versions of an eclectic mix of more mainstream and songs popular on their festival scene, but have been on a journey of moving to performing entirely original material.
The band has built a reputation for their dynamic live performances, captivating crowds at festivals and gigs across the UK. Notable appearances include Ey Up Mi Duck Festival, the Yorkshire MAG Rally, and Here for the Music Festival, where they’ve left lasting impressions with their infectious sound and undeniable stage presence.
A stripped back acoustic Darwin’s set featuring Russ and Warren at the Fiddler’s Arms at Beautiful Days 2024 yielded some great feedback from none other than Geoff Lakeman.
Darwin's Rejects continue to bring their folk-punk blend to new audiences, delivering an unforgettable musical experience that bridges genres and connects with listeners from all walks of life. With a debut EP – ‘Broken Nation’ already under their belt they’re now working hard to get their debut album written and recorded with the aim of a Spring 2025 release.
Based in the East Midlands, but more than happy to spread their wings for further flung adventures!
