Jacob Hackworth Biography
Jacob Hackworth is a powerhouse vocalist, artist, and songwriter. His unique mix of R&B, Pop and Country Music is helping shape the next generation of Country. He discovered his voice almost before he could speak. “My parents said I would stand by the piano and sing while my grandma would play before I can even remember,” recalls Jacob. The West Plains, MO native grew up on gravel roads and living a small-town dream that he never intended on leaving. “In West Plains you go to college, or you go to work on the railroad; it was the railyard for me,” Hackworth recalls. In his time off, he began writing songs and started a band that performed around Southern Missouri. Feeling encouraged by positive feedback he was receiving from his live shows and songwriting, Jacob decided to leave the Missouri world that he loved and make the leap to Nashville.
While taking whatever work he could find like being a DJ on a party boat or working in bars, Jacob kept honing his music and collaborating with new people like Bailey Zimmerman producer, Austin Shawn. His songs with Shawn and others, along with performances around town, caught the ear of Goat Island’s head of A&R, Sam Shelton, who introduced Jacob to industry vets, Kos Weaver (Goat Island) and Joe Fisher (Boom). A partnership was formed, and Jacob has been on a creative tear ever since, attaining over twenty major label cuts and releases as a songsmith including the Bailey Zimmerman six-week #1 break-out hit, “Rock and a Hard Place.” Speaking of breaking out, Hackworth has been making a habit of creating chart rockers with friends like helping pen the Tucker Wetmore Billboard Hot 100 viral sensation, “Wine Into Whiskey.”
His undeniable talent has led him to become one of the most sought-after songwriters in Music City. His success has included more cuts by Bailey Zimmerman and Tucker Wetmore and additional songs recorded by Morgan Wallen, Warren Zeiders, Jelly Roll, charlieonnafriday, Chase Mathew, Corey Kent and many others. This impressive body of work has made the release of his own artistry an inevitability. Look for new music soon from the force-of-nature artist that is Jacob Hackworth.
