Armor for Sleep Biography
Armor for Sleep is an alternative rock band from Maplewood and Teaneck, New Jersey. Lead singer Ben Jorgensen recorded the first ever Armor For Sleep songs for $100 at a nearby recording studio, playing all the instruments by himself. He later met his band mates in college.
The band was originally signed to EQUAL VISION RECORDS, which released the band's first two albums. As of April 2006, Armor for Sleep is signed to Sire Records. According to a recent post on the band's MySpace, their contract with EVR simply ran out and was not renewed.
A remix of Remember to Feel Real was featured on the "Snakes on a Plane: The Album" Soundtrack in August of 2006. Also, End of the World was featured on the "Transformers: The Movie" soundtrack in 2007.
The band recorded it's third album, Smile For Them, at the Mix World Studios in beginning of December 2006. The album was released on October 11th, 2007 to critical acclaim. The lyrical content focuses on real-world issues instead of the afterlife or dream world of the band's first two albums.
The band currently consists of:
Ben Jorgensen - vocals, guitar
Nash Breen - drums
